Ro Mottsmith is a mixed Mexican & American artist working in paper and clay - in love with color and inspired by folk art. Their work explores their mixed cultural heritage and how their roots shape how they move through the world today. Drawing on both traditional and modern techniques and themes, Ro creates vibrant and unique pieces that blur the line between folk art and fine art. While “fine art” is often elevated above “craft,” Ro deliberately celebrates the hard work, creativity, skill, and legacy of the craft in every piece of art they make.
