As a child growing up in Davis, I remember vast open spaces, miles of orchards, and the scent of wild grass. The rapid transformation of these landscapes is something I reflect on often, and through my paintings, I aim to capture our deep, ever-changing relationship with the land.
Beyond landscape, I also explore moments of mystery and play in everyday life. Animals, birds, and people appear in my paintings, often engaged in quiet moments of reflection or movement. These works highlight the small but meaningful connections between humans and nature—where a winding branch, a dramatic cliffside, or a gathering of birds can become the starting point for a painting.
At its core, my work is about connection—between past and present, humans and nature, movement and stillness. Through painting, I hope to invite others to reconnect, and feel a sense of wonder in the world around them.
